Authors in the Spotlight 11/28

In today's Authors in the Spotlight, we have author J. Asmara!

----------------------------------------------------------

Name: J. Asmara

How long have you been published? I’ve been published now just over three years. I published my first story, When It Raynes, in August of 2014.

What's the worst part about being published? Outside of the scrutiny from others that can sometimes arise, I cannot say that I feel there is a bad part of being a published author.  I truly enjoy putting out books.

What's the best part about being published? I feel that the best part about being a published author is being able to share my gift with others on a broader scale. Putting a book out on multiple platforms allows me to reach people that I otherwise would not be able to reach in my everyday dealings.

Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? I briefly published through a publisher however, the majority of my work has been through self-publishing.

*What are the highs, if any? I feel having total creative control over your work is the largest benefit/high of self-publishing.

*What are the lows, if any? As far as lows/downfalls of being self-published, I feel the worst thing about being a self-published author is the fact that you are responsible for everything. That at time can be overwhelming.

What is the name of your book(s)? When It Raynes: Trilogy, Virtually Challenged: Trilogy, And Then There were Two, Enough, Exotic Fruit, and Situationz.

Was it/were they an easy write for you? For the most part all of my books were easy to write. The two that gave me the most problems were book three of both the When It Raynes series and the Virtually Challenged series. It took me the longest to complete those because as the third and final books of the series, I wanted them to wow my readers.  It took countless second-guessing and over-thinking sessions before I finished them.

What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part of writing for me is living up to the expectations I set for myself to provide the best story possible for my readers. I always want to please as many readers as possible.

What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part of writing for me is the formulation of the stories. I’ve been blessed to be able to visualize my story before I put pen to paper.

Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Signed copies of my books are available on my personal website. Books are also available on Amazon.

Do you have any future projects in the works? *Is there a tentative release date? Yes, I do have some projects in the works. Unfortunately, I do not have any tentative release dates at this time.

Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Yes. I am on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
