Authors in the Spotlight 11/16

In today's Authors in the Spotlight, we have author Shae Hollisway!

----------------------------------------------------------

Name: Shae Hollisway

How long have you been published? I have been published a few times throughout my school career but I published my first book August 1st, 2015.

What's the worst part about being published? I think that the worst part about being published would be how sociable you have to be to promote the book because I’m such an introvert and so shy.

What's the best part about being published? The best thing about being published is I think relishing in the possibility that someone will pick up my work and read it and that it will resonate in them in a way that begins their healing process.

Are you self published or did you go through a publishing company? I am self published. The highs were having total creative control and not having to deal with anyone else. The lows would be having to self promote and market the book which I have not mastered yet.

What is the name of your book(s)? The name my first book is entitled Scarred and Faceless. It’s a small poetry collection.

Was it/were they an easy write for you? I think it was relatively easy to write.  It was kind of a memoir of my life from when I first started finding my voice as a writer  to when I published the book. So like, a retelling of my short life through poetry.

What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part about writing a book is trying to organize all my ideas into in a way that would make sense to a reader.  At any given time I have so many story pieces in my head, the very thought of sorting through them is exhausting.

What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part about writing a book is coming up with an idea. It’s so easy putting an idea together. It’s planning it out and then putting it together.

Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? If any readers are interested in purchasing Scarred and Faceless, they can find it at The Book Patch.

Do you have any future projects in the works? I have quite a few projects in the works but no release dates as of right now.

Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? I have a Twitter account specifically for author related things under my new pen name. I’m on Wordpress and I’m also on Instagram
