Paper by
Jonie McIntire
Push
the straw
against
the table,
and the
paper gives.
Pull it
off,
smooth
it into a flatness,
more
than skin,
now a
body of its own.
Curl
the paper
into
itself
and
through.
Pull
and you will find
the
hooked finger,
beckoning.
Right
now,
I'm
thinking of you.

STAINED
GLASS by Joanne Van
Leerdam
A
masterful, vivid mosaic,
A
fragmented work of art;
She
finds her greatest beauty when
Light
shines through the tinted glass.
Though
fragile, her strength is in the scars
That
unify her; thus, she remains
Beautifully
broken and mended,
And
permanently, poignantly stained.
