Flow Friday

Welcome to Flow Friday! Poetry lovers, kick back and enjoy the read!

---------------------------------------------------------

I have secrets.
Lots of them.
I'd liked to have told you one.
I'd like to have told you my idea of the perfect day.
I'd like to have told you how I hated the snow.
I'd like to have said how I never understood the night sky
And I'd like to have told you of your presence paradigm.

I wish I could show you how your skin felt on mine.
I wish I could show you my beloved taste for red wine.
I wish I could show you how I think it's a crime
That you simply cannot see when you're pure you're divine.

I regret that you can't feel my souls intertwined.
Between what it is that I have and what I'm hoping to find.
I regret that you can't feel my words spoke so kind.
And that my voice to your ears doesn't taste as sublime.

If only I could remind you of this life's hidden signs.
To ignore all the mishaps and the burden of time.
If only I could remind you of blue streams as they wind.
Through mountains and plains together we bind.

I wonder if I told you of the secrets I hide.
Would your thoughts stay the same or become redesigned
I wonder if you saw in my eyes unrefined
That for your whole, I'd give anything
Even my mind.

Authors in the Spotlight 8/17

In today's Authors in the Spotlight, we have author Keisha A. Turner!

---------------------------------------------------------

Name: Keisha A. Turner

Pen Name: Queen Keishii

How long have you been published? 2 years since June 24th, 2015

What's the worst part about being published? I can't think of anything that is worst about being published, I've been good on that.

What's the best part about being published? The best part is when you find that publisher that is right for you and you get to see the benefits of both of y'all hard work come to fruition.

Are you self published or did you go through a publishing company? I am signed to a publishing company. Urban Chapters Publications, which is owned by Jahquel Jacobs aka Jahquel J.

*What are the highs, if any? *What are the lows, if any? There are no highs or lows...I'm having a great experience.

What is the name of your book(s)? The name of my books are: •I'll Be Loving You A Long Time 1-3 • Loyal To My Hittas - collab w/ Ms. Brii • Shell Casings & Cocaine Residue • All I Have Anthology - Up and Fell in Love (snippet) • All I Need In This Cold World • Up and Fell in Love 1-2 • So Infatuated With The Plug • Riding For My Thug • Thick Thighs Saves Lives, Vol. 1 BBW anthology - I Can Love You • I Love My Kisses Down Low, Erotic BBW anthology- What's Your Deepest Fantasies? • In The Presence of a Thug 1-3

Was it/were they an easy write for you? They were easy and difficult at the same time, if that makes sense.

What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part about writing is that it opened up emotions and then you don't know how the readers will gravitate to what you write. Then there's writers block...that there is a monster.

What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part of writing is that I am writing from the heart and let it flow.

Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Amazon

Do you have any future projects in the works? *Is there a tentative release date? I have plenty of future projects in the works, but I don't set release days...I just drop, basically.

Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? InstagramFacebookFacebook Fan Page: Snapchat: respect_keishii • My Website

Authors in the Spotlight 8/15

In today's Authors in the Spotlight, we have author Misty Holt!

---------------------------------------------------------

Name: Misty Holt

How long have you been published? My first book released November 10, 2016

What's the worst part about being published? I have found I've had to somewhat censor myself. I can be a little brash and I don't want to chase away my fan base.

Are you self published or did you go through a publishing company? I'm signed to Lock Down Publications.

*What are the highs, if any? I don't have to worry so much about the cost of everything. I also had a built-in fan base. My publisher was well known and his fans became mine. The mentorship (yes, I made that word up) being able to text call email about things I'm struggling with is a major plus.

*What are the lows, if any? DEADLINES. I hate having a certain amount of time set between each book. Also, because my Publisher has a contract with a book cover designer, I didn't get the designer or cover I really wanted.

What is the name of your book(s)? As of today, I only have two. I Ride For My Hitta and I Still Ride For My Hitta. By the time this airs, I hope to have at least 8.

What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part of writing to me is trying to keep a balance of what my characters want, what my publisher wants and what my readers want.

What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part for me is knowing my characters tell their own story. I'm only writing it for them.

Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My books can be purchased through me, Amazon, or the LDP website. My publisher and his COO are also able to mail physical copies

Do you have any future projects in the works? I'm currently working on my first 'love' story. I also am working on a book revolving around drug use and one revolving around child molestation.

Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Yes, you can find me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
